Fire Safety Risk Assessment (Level 3)
The risk of fire is a possible threat to most businesses. In 2005 the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) order (RRO), replaced over seventy pieces of dated and cumbersome fire safety legislation. The RRO placed a duty on the Responsible Person, to undertake a Fire Risk Assessment of their premises to ensure they have adequate controls in place to prevent or limit the spread of fire.
About the Fire Risk Assessment qualification
The Level 3 award in fire risk assessment will ensure that delegates understand their role as a fire risk assessor with regards to the regulatory reform (fire safety) order, and can undertake a fire risk assessment in a low risk premises.
They will learn how identify fire hazards, understand the risks present within their workplace with the aim or reducing to as low a level as is reasonably practicable a fire starting in the workplace. As fire risk assessors they will, understand the the control measures which are available in the workplace. be able to identify Fire Fighting equipment which should be made available. They will also be able to specify fire prevention methods which should be deployed based on the identified risks.
This qualification is available to those over 16 years. Candidates should be at least a level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent
No mandatory requirement, but taking a refresher every 3 years is recommended to ensure skills are current and relevant.
