Fire Safety Awareness (Level 1)
The risk of fire is a possible threat to most businesses. A fire can be devastating for businesses, and in many case the reason for the business to fail. Having your staff trained to a basic level of Fire Safety Awareness, can reduce the risk of fires starting.
About the Fire Safety Awareness qualification
The Level 1 award in fire safety awareness at work will ensure that delegates have a basic understanding of the chemical reaction that is fire. They will be able to identify the elements required for a fire to start and be able to help you manage the risk of fire by keeping them apart.
They will learn how identify fire hazards, understand the risks posed not only to them, but also to those around them as a result of a fire starting in the workplace. They will also be able to outline the control measures which are available in the workplace. Identify Fire Fighting equipment. Know what to do and where to go for safety, if a fire does start.
This qualification is available to those over 14 years. Candidates should be at least a level 1 numeracy and literacy or equivalent
No mandatory requirement, but taking a refresher every 3 years is recommended to ensure skills are current and relevant.
