About the Abrasive wheels in Engineering qualification

The Abrasive wheels in Engineering course will ensure that delegates understand the legal duties placed on their employers and them as an employee when it comes to dealing with equipment which uses Abrasive Wheels.

They will learn how identify the hazards, understand the risks posed not only to them, but also to those around them as a result of the Abrasive wheels and equipment  they work with. They will also be able to outline the controls required when it comes to the safe use, handling, transporting, of the abrasive wheels used in their workplace.

Pre-Requisites:

This qualification is available to those over 16 years. Candidates should be at least a level 1 numeracy and literacy or equivalent

Refresher requirements:

Refresher requirements should be driven from employers risk assessments, but taking a refresher every 3 years is a minimum recommendation to ensure skills are current and relevant.

What we can offer

This course can be tailored uniquely to your business and help you to deliver key messages about your Provision and Use of Equipment policies and procedures whilst your staff are gaining a recognised qualification.

The course is delivered in a classroom environment by a friendly, professional assessor, who will ensure delegates are fully prepared for the assessment which concludes the training session. Public courses are run on a regular basis, please see our Public Courses page for details of any planned events.

If there are no events running that suit your needs we are more than happy to bring the training to you, get in touch via our Contact Us page and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible to get you trained.

Using abrasive wheels will inevitably create harmful dusts and fumes, if you are providing Respiratory Face Protection (RPE) for your employees they must hold a valid face fit test certificate for that RPE. We can provide Qualitative Face Fit testing as part of our consultancy services and would be more than happy to provide a quote for carrying out these tests after the Abrasive wheels training if you have not already done this.
