All employers have a duty to their staff under the Health & Safety at Work, etc, Act 1974 (HSWA) to provide information, instruction and training with regards to the health and safety of them and other people whilst they carrying out duties at work.
About the Health & Safety qualification
The Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in the workplace is a great means of preparing new staff as part of their induction program on both the duties the employer has to them and others whilst at work, and their duties they hold themselves under the Health & Safety at work, etc, act 1974.
The course will include:
- Understanding the legal duties
- Identification of Hazards & Risk
- Welfare Conditions
- The Reporting of Accidents, Incidents & ill Health
- First Aid Requirements
QNUK Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace (RQF)
3 hours / 1/2 day
This qualification is available to those over 14 years. Candidates should be at least a level 1 numeracy and literacy or equivalent

No mandatory requirement, but taking a refresher every 3 years is recommended to ensure skills are current and relevant.
