Most work places store, handle, use and have to dispose of substances hazardous to health in one form or another. Employers have a legal duty to control the risks posed and to provide information, instruction and training on the control measures in place to deal with those substances
About the Substances Hazardous to Health qualification
The Level 2 award in Principles of COSHH will ensure that delegates understand the legal duties placed on their employers and them as an employee when it comes to dealing with hazardous substances.
They will learn how identify the hazards, understand the risks posed not only to them, but also to those around them as a result of the substances they work with. They will also be able to outline the controls required when it comes to the safe use, handling, transporting, storing and disposing of the hazardous substances found in their workplace.
This qualification is available to those over 14 years. Candidates should be at least a level 1 numeracy and literacy or equivalent
No mandatory requirement, but taking a refresher every 3 years is recommended to ensure skills are current and relevant.
